JACKSON COUNTY
Downtown Sylva is a short, dense run of bookstores, breweries and coffee shops, with a real college-town energy behind it. Its old courthouse, stacked up the hillside above Main Street, is probably the most photographed building in Western North Carolina. Close to Western Carolina University and the Tuckasegee River, which means young energy and good water within a few minutes of each other.
